Our Music Video Choice

To decide on the music we wanted to use for our music video we had a large discussion between the four of us. This took some time as we all had different ideas and all like different music. We decided we only wanted one or two people in the video and that the other two would film. After going through many artists such as Rihanna, Pixie Lott and Lady Gaga, we decided that we wanted something more extreme and unusual compared to other artists. Although Lady Gaga is very extreme we decided we wanted something realistic that showed life as it is today instead of the extreme being with the costumes and the song. We came to the conclusion that we would do "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse, as this covers the themes of drugs, alcohol, and views on society's and stereotypically young peoples lives. As the song is called "Rehab" we said that we could really explore this title and include various things in the video related to the title. As a lot of programmes on television like Skins and Shameless show us what teenagers lives can be like we thought this video would be appropriate and appeal to a large audience just like Skins and Shameless do. For inspiration we have looked at other artists like Eminem for example, as he tends to be fairly adventurous with his lyrics but is very to the point although this can sometimes be too much and inappropriate.

Between the four of us we discussed that myself would play the main character and lip sync the song. For my outfit, of which is still undecided, we have chosen to make me appear hungover. We will achieve this by using a selection of face makeup to make me appear this way, to have messy hair and ripped, dirty clothing.

Here is a sample of the song to show the sort of inspiration we have gathered from this and the song we will be using. I have sent an email to Amys record label to ask for permission to use her song. I am unable to embed the video as this has been disabled but here is the song.
